MPCA Institutional Controls [Minnesota]
Description
Institutional Controls (ICs) are restrictions, conditions, or controls intended to protect the integrity of a response action and help minimize the potential for exposure to contamination. This dataset provides location points, addresses, and property identification numbers (PINs) of existing ICs for the MPCA's Voluntary Investigation and Cleanup (VIC), Superfund, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Petroleum Remediation, Petroleum Brownfields, and Closed Landfill Programs. If you have questions about institutional controls, please contact instcontrols.pca@state.mn.us. This resource contains two spatial datasets; one with point features (institutional_controls), the other with polygon features (institutional_controls_areas). The point dataset is inclusive of all IC records in MPCA's database. Whereas the polygon dataset only includes records for a portion of the ICs. Each IC represented in the polygon dataset is also represented in the point dataset. , The locations of agency institutional controls to provide information and context to support decisions on past land use, remediation, best management practices, maintaining environmental quality, and agency operations.
