Minnesota Trails: Division of Parks and Trails [Minnesota]
Description
This dataset consists of a wide variety of trails within Minnesota that are maintained by the DNR Division of Parks and Trails as well as those maintained by Grant-In-Aid-funded trail clubs. In addition, the data include state park roads and campground spurs. Attributes for each trail or road segment include, among other things, trail/road name, an internally used Program-Project Code, and authorized recreational trail uses. The layer file available through the GDRS and Geospatial Commons provides a wide variety of display options that correspond to these descriptive attributes. These data are intended to be used at a scale of 1:24,000 or smaller. This dataset is known to contain some geometry and attribute errors and is not guaranteed to be accurate., This dataset is designed to be used to evaluate and map information regarding general locations and routes followed by the Division of Parks and Trails-administered trails and state park roads, along with trails' current approved recreational uses., Source data were collected from GPS, aerial photograph interpretation, and digitized paper maps between 2003 and the present and is frequently updated and revised. This derived dataset is updated from its source on a weekly basis.
