This data delineates the areas in the Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area (MRCCA) that have been identified as having a high potential for increased environmental quality through vegetation restoration. The identified restoration priorities are simply primary conservation areas (PCAs) that do not contain natural vegetation. PCAs are sensitive areas that benefit from a protective layer of deep-rooted natural vegetation to hold soil in place. This data set shows the following PCAs that do not contain natural vegetation: shore impact zone, bluff impact zone, wetlands, and floodplains.
