- This dataset estimates the distribution of surficial sand units in Minnesota, from previously published surficial geology maps by the Minnesota Geological Survey, for use with Department of Natural Resources water table maps. , This dataset was developed to provide a statewide estimate of surficial sand units., Data were obtained in 2015 and re-evaluated in January 2016. Data are current at time of publication. The MGS surficial geology maps were published between 1995 and 2015.
