University of MichiganThe landscape ecosystems of the Nichols Arboretum were defined by Alan Tepley in his 2001 Master's Thesis at the University of Michigan. The boundaries were defined by using field reconnaissance, the establishment of sample plots and soil pits, laboratory work and data analysis.
