In 2023, the City of Detroit was awarded a $24.8 million Safe Streets for All (SS4A) grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT). In addition to safety countermeasures, DSAT also implements ADA improvements, and safety training for DDOT operators. The work is divided into two bus stop types: Safer Bus Stops - high crash intersections without transfers. Safer Transfers - high crash signalized intersections that operate as transfer locations between routes.
