In addition, this area hosts state-threatened breeding Short-eared Owls as well as many overwintering owls. Management of the forest resource must be intentional to maintain both nesting cover as well as a prey base and foraging habitat. In addition to boreal forest owls, the area supports Boreal Chickadees and Gray Jays and thus attracts bird watchers seeking boreal species.</dc:description><dc:description>Time Period of Content Date indicates when dataset was last updated.</dc:description><dc:format>Files</dc:format><dc:identifier>env-owl-breeding-obs-aitkin</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:rights>Public</dc:rights><dc:title>Aitkin County Breeding Owl Records 1973-2014 [Minnesota]</dc:title><dc:type>Datasets</dc:type><dc:coverage>Minnesota</dc:coverage><dc:date>2018-09-06</dc:date><dc:contributor>Minnesota Geospatial Commons</dc:contributor></oai_dc:dc>
