Public Drainage Systems [Minnesota--Waseca County]
Description
This dataset represents the geospatial public drainage system records (as defined by Minnesota Statute 103E) of Waseca County, Minnesota., This data resides in a geodatabase created through the Drainage Records Modernization and GIS Database Project to enable local drainage authorities to standardize their records in digital form for improved drainage management and planning. In addition, portions of it were intended for use in third-party hydrographic studies and modeling. For more information on the project, a collaborative effort by the Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) and the Minnesota Geospatial Information Office (MnGeo), see: http://www.bwsr.state.mn.us/drainage/ , Many of the ditches were digitized in 1993 and minor updates have been made since that date. The drainage authority is currently in the progress of reviewing each draiange system from historical records and making updates as needed.
