- This dataset is a grid of thirty-year monthly averages of maximum temperature in degrees Fahrenheit, calculated for 1991 to 2020 by using and interpolating data from U.S. weather stations. It was developed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Centers for Environmental Information. These values, commonly referred to as "normals", represent typical present-day climate conditions, acting as a ruler to compare current and forecast conditions, as well as a predictor of future conditions, helpful for agricultural, economic, and recreational planning.
