- Abstract
- Ayres Associates was contracted through the NCWRPC for the creation of 18" RGB DOQQs from the native resolution digital orthophotography from the 2010 Wisconsin Regional Orthoimagery Consortium (WROC) imagery program. Flights occurred in the Spring of 2010 for the entire State of Wisconsin, resulting in a "leaf-off" aerial photo product. Re-flights were necessary for the eastern 4 mi of Columbia Co., parts of NW Oconto Co, and the south half of Lincoln Co. during the spring of 2011. - Purpose
- The goal of this initiative is to develop color DOQQs for the entire State of Wisconsin.
- Supplemental Information
- Both a county mosaic (JPEG2000, 10:1 compression) as well as individual GeoTIFF DOQQs are available for this dataset. Use the tabs within the WisconsinView data portal to select the desired format. - Ayres Associates created 18-inch resolution RGB DOQQs meeting 1:12,000-scale National Map Accuracy standards for horizontal accuracy. The DOQQs are a post product of native resolution WROC state-wide orthophotography. - Description
- Any quad which intersected this particular county was copied into the appropriate county folder. All tiffs within the folder were then mosaicked and compressed to jpeg2000 (jp2) using a target compression ratio of 10:1. Due to the fact that the original DOQQ's (tiff) had background values of 255,255,255, the resulting mosaicked, compressed images have the same background value of 255,255,255. Unfortunately, the default and most used value for background values is 0,0,0. This will force the user of these compressed mosaics to manually set the background in ArcMap to 255,255,255.
