Within the analyzed area in a cloud-free zone of about 723,000 km², a total of about 27,000 km² of land appear to be affected by flood waters. Based on Worldpop population data and the maximum flood water coverage, at least 10 million people were potentially exposed or living close to flooded areas. This is a preliminary analysis and has not yet been validated in the field.
