- Land Surface Temperature (LST) estimates were created using Landsat 8 data collected at 10:34 AM (CST) on July 21, 2014. Inputs included Thermal Infrared Sensor (TIRS) 1 Brightness Temperature, CFMask cloud and cloud shadow, and a Normalized Difference Vegetation Index. LST estimates are provided as an ESRI grid, alongside documentation describing data inputs, acquisition, and processing. Note: Land surface temperature estimates that are generated using this method are suitable for relative temperature comparisons. Precise measurement of surface temperatures using Landsat data would require in situ emissivity and temperature measurements to calibrate emissivity coefficients, as well as a detailed land cover classification.
