The Illinois State Water Survey���s Shallow Groundwater Wells Network collects data on shallow groundwater levels across the state.�� These data allow scientists to assess both short-term and long-term trends in the water table which is useful for understanding the effects of climate on Illinois��� hydrologic cycle.
