Description:

The New Jersey Geological Survey Digital Geodata Series DGS04-1 dataset shows earthquakes that had epicenters in New Jersey and off the coast. This data has 216 earthquakes with epicenters in New Jersey and off the coast. Most are minor with magnitudes ranging from 0.4 to 5.3 and depths up to 25 km below sea level. Earthquakes with magnitude of 0 (zero) implies that the magnitude is unknown. Following earthquakes added since December 3, 2020 version: 1) 2 km E of Tuckerton, NJ on 6-9-2021, 07:52:35 (EDT), Magnitude 2.4, Depth 5 km; 2) 4.2 km W of Morris Plains, NJ on 8-30-2022, 17:14:53 (EDT), Magnitude 2.3, Depth 5 km; 3) 1 km WSW of Lake Telemark, NJ on 8-30-2022, 18:37:48 (EDT), Magnitude 1.7, Depth 5 km; 4) 93 km ESE of Harvey Cedars, NJ, on 9-9-2022, 04:56:06 (EDT), Magnitude 2.3, Depth 10 km
