Abstract
This line data layer represents topography contours for Ozaukee County, Wisconsin in 2004. The original dataset was originally published by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in 2004.[The topographic (contour) mapping product covers the entire county and was prepared from 1"=800' negative scale black and white photography flown in the spring of 1994. The accuracy standard used is National Map Accuracy for 1" = 200' scale mapping. The contour files are non-overlapping, 3-D Microstation .dgn files and AutoCAD .dwg files are tiled by survey section.]
Purpose
This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [This mapping serves a base map purpose for planning and general mapping application and upon which other county data sets are registered to.]

Description
[WDNR staff engineer looked at the original DGN files and manually attributed the contours that were missing elevation values with their appropriate elevations. There were also a few locations in the contours where there were erroneous elevation attributes (mostly along Cedar Creek)that were also corrected. These were contours that were broken and generally unreliable near dams. Unbroken contours were not connected and are still present in the data.]
