These barriers are a significant driver of habitat loss and population declines in freshwater habitats. The BIL will fund projects over five years (FY2022 - FY2026) and result in a transformational impact to aquatic species, their habitats, and the surrounding communities. This feature layer hosts specific geographic points containing locations of BIL funded fish passage projects across the federal government in a collaborative effort to display the investment nationwide to restore fish passage and aquatic connectivity nationwide. Federal agencies funding fish passage projects with BIL funding provide point data to the FWS which is then incorporated into the feature layer and displayed on the accompanying Interagency BIL Fish Passage Projects web map and dashboard.
