Title
Madagascar - Tropical Cyclone Gezani - OpenStreetMap Data
Description
This dataset contains OpenStreetMap data exported from the HOTOSM disaster mapping response to Tropical Cyclone Gezani in early 2026 (GLIDE: [TC-2026-000015-MDG](https://www.glidenumber.net/glide/public/search/details.jsp?glide=23729&record=1&last=1) ). On Tuesday the 10th of February, Tropical Cyclone GEZANI 26 made landfall near the city of Toamasina on the eastern coast of Madagascar as Category 4 cyclone. The cyclone severely damaged homes leading to massive displacements, caused fatalities and injured many. HOT is working in collaboration with Madagascar OSM Community, Malagasy Red Cross, and INGD (Mozambique Disaster Risk Management Institute) to prioritise and coordinate the mapping response. The data has been contributed by volunteers through the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team's Tasking Manager and represents buildings and roads in the affected area. It is updated weekly as mapping progresses. Subscribe to this dataset to be notified of any new updates. This dataset includes all OpenStreetMap features in the area of interest for this event, covering: Buildings and Roads. See the list of projects in the Tasking Manager [here](https://tasks.hotosm.org/explore?campaign=Cyclone+Gezani+2026&omitMapResults=1&status=PUBLISHED%2CARCHIVED%2CDRAFT). For more information see the [HOTOSM activation page](https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Humanitarian_OSM_Team/Open_Mapping_Hub_Eastern_and_Southern_Africa/Cyclone_Gezani_2026).
