Indiana Department of Environmental Management - Office of Land QualityThe dry cleaner and laundry dataset was developed to collect business names, locations, and specialties of dry cleaner and laundry businesses. The information was compiled from a dataset consisting of public documents, such as city, business, and phone directories dating from 1886 to present. The dataset also lists the last known business name and Indiana Department of Environmental Management's Master AI identification number for most regulated facilities. The intent of the dataset is to document the years of operation, operating names, and location of dry cleaner and laundry facilities. This dataset is not complete and work to improve information in the database and add additional information is ongoing. The Dry Cleaner and Laundry point layer contains standardized addresses and dry cleaner and laundry operating names in order to locate and combine locations and operating names. The addresses in this layer were geocoded based on the standardized addresses. If the address was able to be located, the nearest known location is marked.
