The data represents the number of distinct offense descriptions listed on a report that fall within the categories of Crime against Persons with the exception of sexual offenses, Crime against Property and Crime against Society as well as selected Traffic-related offenses and Malicious Harassment. Removed from the dataset are any offenses that involved domestic violence. The data is based on the earliest occurred on date as reported by the citizen and is in some cases a "best guess" on their part. This data does not represent the number of reports or individuals but as stated the number of distinct offense descriptions per incident. The addresses have been anonymized to the nearest 100 block and are limited to incidents with a Tacoma Police district and a Tacoma Police reporting block. The data is dynamic and is subject to change and/or revision. Please note that small numbers can cause large percent increases and decreases, and that police locations and hospitals are sometimes used when the address of occurrence is unknown. This data is updated daily.
