- This data set is a polygon shapefile representing Public Land Survey System (PLSS) quarter-quarter sections. The data are a subset of the Wisconsin DNR's 'Landnet' database, automated from 1:24,000-scale sources. On December 27, 2016 GIS Section staff corrected erroneous Landnet code values in the record with OBJECTID = 623891 in PROD UAT SDE.
- Purpose
- The features in the 24K Landnet database are presented for cartographic reference only and are not intended to be official or authoritative. Survey by a registered land surveyor is the only legal basis for determining actual land boundaries or locating PLSS corners.

- The 24K Landnet database was produced using workstation ArcInfo - Rev. 7, at the Wisconsin DNR Central Office in Madison, WI. ArcInfo regions were incorporated to more easily manage the various related themes. Data from cooperators were created on a variety of software and hardware platforms and converted to ArcInfo format. For a complete description of the processes used to create the 24K Landnet, refer to the '24K Landnet Process Documentation', 1996, Wisconsin DNR, which is enclosed with the metadata.
