This data layer represents wetland point and polygon features throughout Wisconsin in 2018. [Wetland features delineated from both aerial photography and ground surveys.]
Purpose
This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [Wisconsin DNR-produced GIS datasets are copyrighted original works made available for use. They are not sold by DNR and may not be sold or reproduced and sold by users. The DNR reserves all rights of authorship granted under U.S. and International copyright laws and agreements. The user agrees to abide by all the following terms and conditions of this agreement. Protection of Proprietary Rights: Reproduction or redistribution of copyrighted wetland datasets or products derived therefrom outside of user’s organization/entity is expressly forbidden. The only exception is redistribution to consultants working for the user, and then only for purposes related to user’s business. Such consultants may not further reproduce or redistribute these copyrighted datasets, and the copies of the copyrighted datasets must be returned to the user upon completion of the consultants' work. Reproduction or redistribution of hard copies of copyrighted datasets is permitted only for non-commercial purposes (e.g., incidental use in a report, government agency publication, or maps of a non-profit organization) unless the DNR Wisconsin Wetland Inventory (WWI) staff gives the user written permission to reproduce or redistribute the hard copies for other specified uses. Liability: DNR will not be liable in any way for accuracy of the data, and assumes no responsibility whatsoever for direct, indirect, special, consequential, exemplary or other damages. The burden for determining "fitness for use" rests entirely upon the user. Any hard copies utilizing DNR digital WWI datasets shall clearly indicate their source and copyright. A user who modifies the data in any way whatsoever is obligated to describe the types of modifications they have performed on the hardcopy map. Any altered graphic elements shall be clearly symbolized to distinguish them from the original DNR digital WWI data. The user agrees not to misrepresent the DNR digital WWI data or imply that DNR approved changes the user made unless the Department's Wisconsin Wetland Inventory Staff gave the user written permission that specifies the changes that DNR is permitting. It is a violation of the terms and conditions of use to post the wetland information for viewing on the World Wide Web or to sell the data outside the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.]
