Abstract
This point data layer represents addresses for Waukesha County, Wisconsin in 2015. It is a feature class within the geodatabase, Waukesha_Addresses_2015.gdb. [The file was originally derived from the Addressing Maintenance System tabular database by joining it to the Tax Parcel feature class and creating a centroid. It was then updated to reflect the needs of E911 dispatch. Each address point is located on the main building of a parcel or the center of the parcel if no building exists. Mile Markers are posted at the locations of the actual signs. Non-addressed points (landmarks, points of interest, etc) are placed where deemed useful. The file also contains retired addresses that are no longer valid.]
Purpose
This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [This feature class primarily serves to aid E911 Dispatch in locating specific addressed locations as well as some landmarks and mile marker locations along major freeways. It is also used for geolocation and as a reference for other files that store an address.]
