Abstract
This data layer represents public land survey system (PLSS) corners for Dane County, Wisconsin in 2025. [This dataset is a representation of the PLSS control across Dane County, Wisconsin. About 60% of the PLSS control is made up of the coordinates that were developed as part of the multi-year remonumentation project by Dane County. This work includes finding, restoring and / or replacing US-PLSS section corner monuments and collecting accurate coordinate data. As the project continues the new control will replace the older PLSS control and eventually have updated PLSS control countywide.]
Purpose
This data is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [This dataset consists of points generated from survey and other sources to represent the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) control across Dane County, Wisconsin.]
