Abstract
This data represents addresses for Jackson County, Wisconsin in 2020. The following features are included: ACCESS, SITE and STRUCTURE.For ACCESS and SITE: [This digital geospatial dataset represents multi-use and multi-family addresses in Jackson County, Wisconsin, with attributes standardized in accordance to the NENA Standard for NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model (NENA-STA-006.1-2018). Address points in this dataset are located where the structures or sites physically exist. Jackson County retains addressing authority for the rural, non-incorporated land areas within the County, whereas the City of Black River Falls, Village of Alma Center, Village of Hixton, Village of Melrose, Village of Merrillan, Village of Taylor, and the Sanitary District within the Town of Brockway retain their own authority over address assignments. Address data from all authoriative areas are amalgamated and/or otherwise updated on a near daily basis to produce this dataset. ]For STRUCTURE: [This digital geospatial dataset represents all recorded street addresses in Jackson County, Wisconsin, with attributes standardized in accordance to the NENA Standard for NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model (NENA-STA-006.1-2018). Address points in this dataset reference the location of a site or structure upon a property. Structures may not be present on addressed vacant land or land intermitently occupied by mobile recreational vehicles, such as mobile homes or RVs. Under these circumstances, the site/structure points are located in proximity to the parcel centroid. Jackson County retains addressing authority for the rural, non-incorporated land areas within the County, whereas the City of Black River Falls, Village of Alma Center, Village of Hixton, Village of Melrose, Village of Merrillan, Village of Taylor, and the Sanitary District within the Town of Brockway retain their own authority over address assignments. Address data from all authoriative areas are amalgamated and/or otherwise updated on a near daily basis to produce this dataset. This dataset may be joined to AddressPoints dataset based on the AJOIN field.]
Purpose
This data is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [This dataset is a geospatial representation of addresses in Jackson County, Wisconsin. The primary purpose of this dataset is to assist the Jackson County Public-Safety Answering Point (PSAP) with 911 emergency dispatching, as well as aid emergency response agencies, which service the Jackson County area. Secondarily, this dataset was generated to support and assist local, state, and federal governmental agencies in planning and development activities, to verify voter registration information, develop emergency planning and response strategies, conduct U.S. Census related activities, and improve the quality and availability of real estate information. Address point placement for this dataset occurs at the location of property access/the addressed structure.]
