UNOSATThis map illustrates affected mining areas along Kapuas River in Central Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. It is derived from Landsat-5 and Landsat-8 multispectral imagery acquired on 7 August 2005 and 3 August 2015 respectively at 30 meter pixel resolution. Affected mining areas are comprised of the exposed sands/mining and affected waters/mining pits land cover classes. The inset table summarizes the total affected mining area as of 7 August 2005 and 3 August 2015 within the region analyzed. This is a preliminary analysis and has not yet been validated in the field.
