It was collected by compiling information from websites and in some cases through requesting updated information via email or phone from organizations doing work around freshwater education and stewardship resources. This also includes state-led freshwater stewardship resources and programs in the state of Michigan. The information was most recently updated in January 2026 and will be updated at least annually. The form to submit upated or new information will be available online year-round. This database was developed and shared to provide resources and information to anyone interested in beginning, continuing, or expanding their work to incorporate these learning practices and gain literacy beyond the classroom about the Great Lakes and stewarding local water resources. Many of these resources are focused on teachers and students, but there are some that are available to all. This data is updated annually. The geographic extent of the data is the state of Michigan, organized by the county in which partners are located or where their resources are applicable.
