The Rappahannock River is a spawning and nursery area for striped bass ( Morone saxatilis ), American shad ( Alosa sapidissima ), blueback herring ( Alosa aestivalis ), and alewife ( Alosa pseudoharengus ). It is also an important nursery area for American eel ( Anguilla rostrata ). Our goal is to assess the effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals to fish and aquatic dependent and piscivorus species, such as bald eagles ( Haliaeetus leucocephalus ) and wading birds, in support of the NWR. The priority area was mapped based upon NWR acquisition boundaries:   http://www.fws.gov/northeast/rappahannock/maps/Refuge_Ownership_Map.pdf.</dc:description><dc:format>ArcGIS FeatureLayer</dc:format><dc:identifier>https://hub.arcgis.com/datasets/7e3a50869add4333a8890606bed2150d_0</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:publisher>U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Open Data</dc:publisher><dc:rights>Public</dc:rights><dc:title>Rappahannock River Valley NWR Focus Area [United States]</dc:title><dc:type>Web services</dc:type><dc:coverage>United States</dc:coverage><dc:date>Last Modified: 2016-05-04</dc:date></oai_dc:dc>
