Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities AreaThe Historical Transit Facilities layer contains streetcar, ferry and horsecar facilities dating back to about 1872. One shape and one corresponding record exists for each route segment. The point work was derived referencing the Functional Class Roads dataset from the Metropolitan Council. Attributes include facility name, type of facility, year opened and year closed. To identify all locations in the Twin Cities metropolitan area where horsecar, ferry and streetcar facilities existed.Routing information is accurate to reflect knowledge of transit history and referencing the book Isaacs A. & Diers J.W. 2007.
