City of Tacoma GISTwo foot contours around the City of Tacoma were generated from LiDAR data gathered by the Puget Sound Lidar Consortium, a division of the Puget Sound Regional Council. LiDAR data was collected early 2002 for western Pierce County and winter 2004 for central Pierce County at a rate of 1 pulse per square meter, up to 4 pulses. Over 90% of road elevations in the source data were within +/- 1 foot when compared to 1990 elevation data. Derived elevation values are calculated using the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (feet).
