Description
Relief shown pictorially. Decorative title cartouche with fruits in upper right corner. In lower right corner, a blank cartouche. Includes illustrations of a ship and sea monster in the ocean. Also includes extensive printing flourishes. Vignette in lower left shows Posiedon bearing a trident and standing in a shell-carriage drawn by two hippocamps. This state was published in atlases by Jan Jansson, in 1636 and 1637. From the Jansson Appendix Atlas 1636-1680, title created to represent a unique collection within the Clark Library, University of Michigan. 1 map; 37 x 49 cm.
