This data set represents areas within the northwest portion of the state of Minnesota that are open to elk hunting. A limited number of licenses are offered to Minnesota residents to hunt elk. Currently there are two established zones; 1) near Grygla, Minnesota, and 2) Kittson County, which are represented by this dataset. The Minnesota Elk Hunt Zones represents the current elk hunt zone. The geodatabase also contains an additional feature class and corresponding layer called Historic Minnesota Elk Hunt Zones. This layer represnts historic elk hunt zone boundaries., This dataset should be used for informational mapping purposes., Current for the 2023 Elk Season
