Washington State Department of Natural Resources, Nearshore Habitat ProgramThese data describe the recent presence of floating kelp beds (Nereocystis luetkeana and Macrocystis pyrifera) in late summer along the Strait of Juan de Fuca and outer coast of Washington State and three of Washington State DNR's Aquatic Reserves in Puget Sound: Cherry Point Aquatic Reserve, Cypress Island Aquatic Reserve, and Smith and Minor Islands Aquatic Reserve.
