- Transit On-Board Survey conducted in 2022 to support model development and analysis of the regional transit system. The full study data collection began in April of 2022 and ended in December of 2022. The study was conducted in Minneapolis – St. Paul and the surrounding municipalities. The transit agencies that were involved with this survey included: Metro Transit, Maple Grove Transit, Plymouth Metrolink, Minnesota Valley Transit Authority, SouthWest Transit, and University of Minnesota Transit. * The purpose of the study was to gather updated travel behavior data from transit users in the Twin City region that encompasses all regional rail and bus services. The data will be used to: * Improve transit forecasts and planning by updating and validating the Council’s new regional tour-based travel forecast model. * Support Before-and-After Study reports for FTA Capital Investment Grant Projects. * Gather updated travel behavior data from transit users in the Met Council service area to gain a better understanding of today’s transit riders. * Allow for updated Title VI reporting, as needed. The survey completed 30,983 on-to-off counts, 7,454 Weekend surveys, and 23,002 Weekday surveys. To assist the Twin Cities Metropolitan Planning Organization with transportation planning and project programming in the Twin Cities region.
