Title
Michigan Electric Vehicle Charger Needs [Michigan]
Description
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy's (EGLE) Charge Up Michigan Program provides grant funding for strategic placement of electric vehicle charging stations throughout Michigan. Optimal locations and quantities for charging stations have been determined through a study conducted by Michigan State University titled Electric Vehicle Charger Placement Optimization in Michigan: Phase I - Highways and Tourism. Each optimal location has been assigned a node number (#1-75). This data layer represents all the nodes (i.e., optimal locations) and how many charging stations are existing/still needed per node as of November 2021. The information provided in this data layer includes each node number/location as assigned by the Michigan State University study, number of existing charging stations funded by EGLE's Charge Up Michigan Program, number of needed charging stations as determined by the Michigan State University study, and number of remaining needed charging stations (i.e., charging stations needed after taking into account the existing charging stations). This data is used to determine met and unmet infrastructure needs in the electric vehicle charging network to inform future funding decisions within the Charge Up Michigan Program.Download this data directly onEGLE's Maps and Data Portal. For inquiries regarding this data, please contact Nicki Guggemos atGuggemosN1@michigan.gov.
