- Abstract
- [The public-safety answering point (PSAP) boundary for Manitowoc County. It includes the portion of the City of Kiel in Calumet County.] This data layer represents 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) service area boundaries in Manitowoc county, Wisconsin in 2020. According to the National Emergency Number Association (NENA), a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) is a facility equipped and staffed to receive 9-1-1 calls. The service area is the geographic area within which a 911 call placed using a landline is answered at the associated PSAP.
- Purpose
- [The Manitowoc County Joint Dispatch Center is responsible for answering calls to an emergency telephone number and dispatching services for police, firefighting, and ambulance. This data layer shows the area they are responsible for.] This data is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data.
