Nutrients are chemical elements and compounds found in the environment that plants and animals need to grow and survive. These constituents generally occur at low concentrations under natural conditions but can be elevated where agrochemicals and lawn fertilizers are used and where septic discharge occurs. Nutrients analyzed in the Ambient Ground Water Quality Monitoring Network include: Nitrogen Ammonia Dissolved as N, Nitrogen Nitrite Dissolved as N, Nitrogen Ammonia Organic Dissolved as N, Nitrogen Nitrite Nitrate Dissolved as N, and Orthophosphate Dissolved as P. This update (2013) includes the data from the completed second sampling cycle of all 150 wells which comprise the redesigned NJAGWQMN.
