Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities AreaRegional truck freight corridors were initially developed through the 2017 Regional Truck Highway Corridors Study. The study provided a data-driven analysis of the region’s principal and minor arterial highways with respect to usage and land use data factors resulting in designated truck corridor segments grouped into the prioritized tiers 1, 2, and 3 as displayed.The purpose of designating regional truck freight corridors is to identify which regional highway segments are most relied upon by the trucking industry to deliver the region’s freight and goods.
