U.S. Fish & Wildlife ServiceSince 2017 Lake Sturgeon Herpesviruses (LSHVs) have been identified in the Great Lakes basin (Wisconsin and Michigan), and in the MIssissippi River basin (Wisconsin). Current data suggests the presence of two similar but distinct herpesviruses (Family Alloherpesviridae) in these Lake Sturgeon populations.
