Published in 1972 by the Blue Earth County Geographical Society, the original work has since been released under a CC BY-NC license by Minnesota State University, Mankato. The scanned and georeferenced images are intended to provide a historical context to the development of school district boundaries in the state of Minnesota. The source work is the earliest known statewide compilation of those boundaries. Since many school districts have consolidated or dissolved since 1972, the boundaries shown should not be considered current. Related historical and current school district boundaries available on the Minnesota Geospatial Commons can be compared to these images to visualize those changes over time. Only the map pages of the source work have been georeferenced. See the PDF included in the metadata folder for the full scanned original work.
