New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), Division of Water Supply & Geoscience (DWSG), Director’s OfficeThe Water Champions Program is designed to educate New Jersey students about the status of their current potable water supply, the impacts of overuse, and reveal opportunities in which they can increase efficiency and conservation practices in their local community. The students are tasked with performing water audits of their home, school, and local businesses that result in the identification of old and wasteful fixtures. The old fixtures are retrofitted with newer models that save energy and water, and the schools and businesses perform a postretrofit audit. This dataset summarizes the outputs and measurable results of the Water Champions Program that was implemented in the Cape May and Delaware Bayshore regions (2016-2022).
