This New Construction GIS dataset represents the location of new building construction throughout Prince Georges County, Maryland. The Planning Department receives the source information from the State of Maryland Tax Assessment (SDAT) on or about the 18thday of the month following the close of each calendar quarter (1st quarter: April 18, 2nd quarter: July 18, 3rd quarter: October 18, 4th quarter: January 18) and represents the location of Residential, Commercial, Mixed Use, Commercial, Industrial and Institutional building uses and visually verified building permits where the total investment is greater than one-hundred thousand dollars ($100,000). The Planning Department connects this information to a map location and will maintain this GIS dataset as new construction reports are received.
