U.S. Fish and Wildlife ServiceThe Occupied range for Mexican Wolf Recovery Program. This range takes into account GPS locations, telemetry, verified sightings, sign (scat verified via genetics and tracks verified by wolf biologists) and trail camera photos. This range is created from these data collected each year by the Mexican Wolf Project Interagency Field Team. All data used to create this range is QAQC'd by a subject matter expert to verify the records are accurate prior to the creation of this range. The Occupied Range area is created by placing a 10 mile buffer around wolf locations and sign.
