MPCA Feedlot Program Vulnerable Groundwater Areas [Minnesota]
Description
The feedlot program issues NPDES and SDS operating permits to large feedlots across the State of Minnesota. These permits contain specific requirements for construction and operation of the facilities as well as land application of manure. This data identifies areas of the state where groundwater is particularly vulnerable to contamination from land application of manure. Manure applied in these areas from NPDES and SDS permitted feedlot facilities must implement best management practices to limit the potential for nitrate leaching. Refer to the NPDES or SDS permit for more details about the applicable requirements., The purpose of this data is to illustrate MPCA Feedlot Program vulnerable groundwater areas referenced in the MPCA Feedlot General NPDES and SDS Permits., This data is updated annually, input data was retrieved on or shortly before the Time Period of Content Date.
