Designated roads shown on the map, called the Wharton State Forest Visiting Vehicle Use Map (https://www.nj.gov/dep/parksandforests/wharton/), will enhance the visitor experience and public safety by supporting State Park Police patrols and the ability to conduct routine maintenance and improving access for emergency response personnel. Further, the map serves to ensure the protection and conservation of wildlife habitat and rare plant species found within the forest. These data include approximately 175.5 miles of unimproved roads and 28.3 additional miles for in season hunting access, along with 57.5 miles of municipal, county and state roads. Features are linear and limited to Wharton State Forest boundaries.</dc:description><dc:format>ArcGIS FeatureLayer</dc:format><dc:identifier>https://hub.arcgis.com/datasets/242e70f4b662466f835ea43a656dd8d2_19</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:publisher>New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's (NJDEP) Bureau of GIS</dc:publisher><dc:rights>Public</dc:rights><dc:title>Wharton State Forest Visiting Vehicle Use Roads [New Jersey]</dc:title><dc:type>Web services</dc:type><dc:coverage>New Jersey</dc:coverage><dc:date>Last Modified: 2025-11-24</dc:date></oai_dc:dc>
