- These data layers represent zoning for Manitowoc County, Wisconsin in 2018. It is a feature class within the geodatabase Manitowoc_Zoning_2018.gdb. The feature layers included in this geodatabase are "Manitowoc_General_2018" and "Manitowoc_Shoreland_2018". [This map data layer represents the zoning district boundaries for the towns in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin that have adopted the county's zoning ordiance. The ordinary high water mark of navigable water features were delineated using Manitowoc County's 2017 digital orthophotograph and 2 ft. contours and breaklines created from a 2015 LiDAR project. Lakes, ponds, and flowages were then buffered by 1000 feet. Rivers, streams, and creeks were buffered by 300 feet.]
- Purpose
- This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [The zoning map data layer is an integral part of the planning and zoning data in the Manitowoc CountyGIS. The data are used in case review, enforcement, and long range planning. GIS data layers are accessed by personnel in many county departments for cartographic use and general spatial analysis. They are not intended for legal, survey, or other related uses. The "Shoreland Zoning Lakes 1000 Ft. Buffer" and "Shoreland Zoning Streams 300 Ft. Buffer" feature class is used by Manitowoc Countyas a guide in determining which unincorporated areas are regulated by the Shoreland Zoning Ordinance. ]
