U.S. Fish & Wildlife ServiceThis federally listed endangered species' extant range is Virginia and North Carolina with the majority occurring in Virginia. Our goal is to recover the species by working with our partners to protect/restore habitat, evaluate reintroduction/augmentation, and accomplish other recovery actions. We will work with our partners to engage in outreach and support survey efforts for Roanoke logperch as well as projects that enhance habitat and water quality such as barrier removal (restore connectivity), implementing agricultural BMPs (e.g., excluding livestock from streams), and stream and riparian restoration. We will support life history studies that inform recovery efforts and modeling projects that refine potential habitat for this species.
