These waters include those that pass through National Parks or Shorelines, and designated Wild Rivers. This layer was created using high resolution NHD flowlines and the State of Michigans hydrology lines files (where no NHD existed on islands), using the descriptions found in Rule 98. Stream lengths (in miles) were measured using the high definition NHD lines, so may not precisely match the mileage length descriptions in Rule 98. The field "OSRW_type" is either "Designated OSRW" or "Tributary to OSRW". Tributaries to the OSRW are those upstream of the designated OSRW as described in the Rule, and receive protections as described in the Rule. Field Name Description OSRW Name Geographic Name of waters contained in an Outstanding State Resource Waterbody OSRW Type Type of Outstand State Resource Waterbody, either a designated OSRW or tributary to a designated OSRW For questions or more information about this dataset, please reach out to Chris Vandenberg of EGLE's Great Lakes Watersheds Assessment, Restoration, and Management Section at VandenbergC@michigan.gov .</dc:description><dc:format>ArcGIS FeatureLayer</dc:format><dc:identifier>https://hub.arcgis.com/datasets/196c105a403f4dbc9b7007a89250797f_15</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:publisher>State of Michigan Open Data Portal</dc:publisher><dc:rights>Public</dc:rights><dc:title>Outstanding State Resource Waters [Michigan]</dc:title><dc:type>Web services</dc:type><dc:coverage>Michigan</dc:coverage><dc:date>Last Modified: 2025-09-24</dc:date></oai_dc:dc>
