Description:

This dataset represents the geospatial public drainage system records (as defined by Minnesota Statute 103E) of Rice County, Minnesota. This data resides in a geodatabase created through the Drainage Records Modernization and GIS Database Project to enable local drainage authorities to standardize their records in digital form for improved drainage management and planning. In addition, portions of it were intended for use in third-party hydrographic studies and modeling. For more information on the project, a collaborative effort by the Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) and the Minnesota Geospatial Information Office (MnGeo), see: http://www.bwsr.state.mn.us/drainage/ The drainage system information was originally created a number of years ago. In the fall of 2016 Rice County has begun reviewing the information against historical documents and updating the GIS informat as appropriate.
