New Jersey State Agriculture Development CommitteeNew Jersey's Important Farmland Soils as per Natural Resources Conservation Service's (NRCS) Soil Survey Geographic (SSURGO) Database. This dataset classifies map units as prime farmland, farmland of statewide importance, or unique farmland as determined by the NRCS and the New Jersey State Soil Conservation Committee. It identifies the location and extent of the soils that are best suited to food, feed, fiber, forage, and oilseed crops.
