Correctional Facilities [Minnesota]
Description
This dataset is a compilation of state- and county-administered correctional facilities in Minnesota, such as state prisons, county jails, and detention facilities. The records were provided by the Minnesota Department of Corrections and compiled by the Minnesota Geospatial Information Office (MnGeo) in March of 2020. In August of 2023, the addition of two facilities was made: Pope County Jail and Stevens County Jail. Facility telephone numbers were also added to the dataset. These additions were compiled by Ramsey County and passed onto MnGeo, who assisted in review of the data. MnGeo was unable to verify the holding capacity of Stevens County Jail. , To provide state agencies and the general public with a basic overview of the locations of correctional facilities., August, 2023
